The Dalton Highway...

Your first warning... ;-)

My bike just before attacking the Dalton Highway.

My bike after the Dalton Highway got done with its counter-attack...

At the top of one of the passes, looking back down.

Farthest North Spruce tree along the Dalton Highway

And some idiot had to go and kill it by purposely cutting it all the way around. The hatchet marks were still very fresh when I reached this point on my way north, so it is likely that I passed the jerk who did this. They must have a pretty sad life to have to do this sort of thing just for kicks...

Pretty view of a domed hill

Caribou grazing within sight of the pipeline.

Be it ever so humble....

Ramshackle shack and mobile home for post office and general store.

It's a long walk home if you break down or run out of fuel...

I just HAD to take a little dip in the Arctic Ocean once I had already gotten this far north. It wasn't that bad, since it was the middle of July. The air temperature was 41 that day, the water temperature was even higher at 42!!! :-)

"Polar" opposites as far as our opinions on the temps that day... ;-)

{Yes, I am in the buff too...)

One of the seven pumping stations along the route of the pipeline off in the distance.

The sunsets in Alaska were nearly always breathtaking...

This is a video I took with my digital camera when I was up near the end of the line on the Dalton Highway.
